"Choosing to practice seeing the humanity in everyone, including those you disagree with, isn’t naive; it’s an agent of change in itself, one that will continue to change you, one that will keep you connected to your own humanity."
Amidst all the wonderful "Human Stuff" in this edition, Lisa, this one is hitting particularly well with me as I've been spending so much time in all the widespread communities of my tumultuous home state. So easy to forget, so essential to remember. Miigwech, thank you!
I love no.5 choosing to see the divine in everyone, especially when they’ve done something to hurt you, is a sign of spiritual and emotional growth and maturity. I try to lean into this truth as much as possible 🙏🏽
I love the reminders of what's safe in #1. And your honesty about stepping back, going slower, in order to care for yourself. This is something I need to do more. 🙏
I really needed these reminders. These are truths I know deep in my heart and try and tell myself, but they always sound better coming from someone else. Thank you 💜
Thank you Lisa ♥️ would it be possible to give us a heads up when the link is from the NY Times? I only can access 5 free articles a month so would be super helpful to know when I’m about to use one (by clicking one of your links ;) thanks for all the work you do and share 🙏
Thank you, Lisa ❤️ I will save this to come back to every day. I feel like reading each reminder and then meditate on it. One at a time. Today, i’ll make some soup. 🙏
Lisa, I needed a reminder of self compassion and love! And how I am perfect with my imperfections and how I can accept and love myself, how I can pause and think, how I can give myself permission not to jump on the train to please others, and how enough and love able I am! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart! ❤️ (I restocked many from the list, but I took screenshots of everything- this will be my guide on days when I am lost)
Number #14... oh how I needed to hear that. Still learning to embrace this deeply feeling nature as a gift and not something to be transformed. #17 Thank you for naming the vulnerability in that.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom week by week. It is a highlight that carries me forward. I am glad you are listening and leaning into what feels right. Your readers appreciate not only what you do, but what you are. You embody the distinction between being and doing.

Thank you for this, Chris -- I am trying my best to remember, too; writing it down helps. I appreciate your words so much.
This one resonates with me too Chris! I wrote about this in one of my previous newsletters which may resonate: https://soulwisdom.substack.com/p/my-birth-day

I find myself needing those reminders a lot -- differentiating between being unsafe and being uncomfortable. It helps. <3

Isn't it like that sometimes - it somehow gets in better when someone else says what we know. I resonate xx
