I love this piece so much 🧡 Love your list and especially love the reminder to notice when we're veering off our path and gently reminding ourselves to come back

That gentle reminder 💛 yes, I need it too. Thank you 🙏🏻

It’s been a day of emotional synchronicities for me and this is one of them. My mother is slowly making her transition and gosh is it disorienting on top of the dynamic energy of this crazy world. Thank you for sharing. ❤️

Sending so much love in the threshold. 💛

My first time here. Wow it had to be divinely inspired. I have been so stressed out that I put on my site. I’m taking a mind break for three days. And that’s what I did. I do ALL of your list but #7. No politics. Instead I go for long walks thru the woods w my best friend. My Maxwell, my beloved rescue dog. 🐶 I choose him bc he’s almost completely blind and 13. He was abused. We are a perfect fit. We need each other. ♥️ So plez add to the list. Ty😊. Thank you so much 😊 for this. I can’t afford to subscribe but I’d love to follow. Is that possible?

I’ll repost this far n wide 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 🐶

You can always subscribe without paying anything 💛 my letters are for all. Thank you for your kind words 🙏🏻

I appreciate the reminder that this is our first time living this life.

This almost made me cry — so much it hit so many personal nerves I will give almost anything not to touch. I’m an avoidant type who’s spent my whole life being required to be honest with myself in ways I’d (almost) literally give anything NOT to be. And I’m truly just sick of it. I’m sick of everything.

Sending much care your way 💛

Adored this. As James Kerti put it perfectly: medicine. I also reflected in this read how perfect your title of Human Stuff is. <3

Lisa Olivera's avatar

I often feel like Human Stuff sounds so silly, but then I'm like... wow yes, it's all human stuff 😭

Lisa, I’m very grateful for your missives, your words, the little glimmers of joy, self-care, compassion, and hope you share here - always. I have been eyeing Range for a while and this might be the time I will give it a go.

Lisa Olivera's avatar

Thank you for that kind reflection 🧡 Range has been so nourishing for me. I believe she offers a free trial so you can explore her movement style and see how it feels -- it's been such an anchor. Sending much care your way.

Lisa, this is beautiful. Disorienting feels like the exact right word for this season — but also how you describe finding those small pockets of rootedness.

Travel has taught me the same lesson: sometimes the world tilts, but if you stay long enough, the ground steadies under your feet. I wrote recently about finding that steadiness in unexpected places, like a flashback from Mauritius: https://thebenthalls.substack.com/p/flashback-focus-mauritius-202425?r=5ci1ff

Your list is such a good reminder that we’re often already doing more than we give ourselves credit for.

This list is extraordinary...I've just finished #6 (among others)--but what really took my breath away was #2--It took my breath away because I've somehow forgotten (or perhaps not made the connection?) to how important this is to my writing life. (In other aspects of what I do, I'm clear--but not on this one.) It will now be something I do every time I sit down at the keyboard--I love the physical act of what you suggest--hand on heart--as a way to physically connect in my body to what is in my mind and heart. Thank you for this wonderful post.

So glad it connected with you <3

This feels really important right now. A lot of powerful forces are working to make us feel destabilised. This is an important reminder of our own agency and control.

Lisa Olivera's avatar

Yes yes yes -- reminding myself of this too <3
