“I want to tell you how exhausting it is to tend to shame in a world that prescribes it.” - oh, a hundred times yes to this. Another gem of a text, thank you Lisa 🥺❤️
“I want to tell you how exhausting it is to tend to shame in a world that prescribes it.
I want to tell you this dissonance is not your fault.” Of the many important things you tell us in this post, I see this as especially essential to remember as we tend to our own wounds and those of others.
I’m so happy your daughter is back to breathing. That you can sit in a coffee shop without panicking. I wrote in the waiting rooms of so many hospitals. Often TO another person who would understand. Once I was waiting for my husband who had a big stroke mid a minor procedure. No news no news no news. And I texted a friend who was sitting bedside with her mother in hospice. We held each other. As you are holding us. ❤️🙏
Oh I love this. A mom caring for her daughter who is sick is heartbreaking and caring. We need the anchors more than ever.
Love your words. “But only because caring happens when our hearts are open, and it’s in that opening we feel all of life more acutely… which is often the very place our care can widen from.”
As many others have shared, this was just what I needed after an endless week of so many feelings. Thank you for the gift of your words and your caring. And much love to your daughter for a continued healthy recovery.
“what a gift it is to remember we can re-center care again and again, even when we fumble or forget how, even when it feels like a kernel in the face of a universe, even when the results of that care aren’t always obvious in the moment.”
How wonderful this quote is. Thank you for your words. 💕
A child's ER visit/illness takes so much out of a parent! I hope she's on the mend. Thanks for these wise words today.
Truly so much. Thank you 🧡
Beautiful insight into the gift of caring even when it can feel like an ocean we are drowning in! Glad your daughter is okay ❤️
These words, yes 🧡 thank you so.

Sending healing vibes for your daughter and hope she’s well on the road to recovery. I wish I could do the same for the world we live in… 💕
Ohh I wish that so much. Thank you 🧡
So beautiful it brought tears dripping down. Broke open the heart to let in the world in all its glory and mess. Thank you
